Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Untangled Discord bot and the web dashboard available at untanglebot.app (together, the “Service”). By adding Untangled to a Discord server, using its commands, or signing in to the dashboard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to use Discord in your country, and you must comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times. If you use Untangled on behalf of a Discord server, you confirm that you have the necessary permissions to do so (for example, the “Manage Server” permission) and that you accept these Terms on that server’s behalf.

2. What the Service does

Untangled is an all-in-one Discord bot that provides features such as moderation and anti-raid tools, welcome and goodbye messages, leveling and leaderboards, tickets, giveaways, starboard, suggestions, temporary voice channels, self-roles, creator alerts, music, an optional AI chat assistant, server analytics, and a web dashboard for configuring these features. Available features may change, and some are optional and only run when you enable them.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate the Discord Terms of Service or Community Guidelines;
Abuse, harass, threaten, or harm others, or use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or prohibited content;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure, other users’ data, or another server’s configuration;
Interfere with, overload, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Service, or attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures;
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

4. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and we may limit or discontinue the Service, at any time and without notice.

5. Fees

Untangled is currently free to use. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; if we do, any pricing and additional terms for those features will be presented to you before you purchase them. Nothing you use today will be moved behind a paywall retroactively.

6. Your content and configuration

You are responsible for the content posted in your server and for the settings you configure with the Service (such as auto-moderation rules, welcome messages, and panels). You retain ownership of your content. You grant us the limited right to process it only as needed to operate the features you use. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with any applicable laws and with the rules of the servers you manage.

7. Intellectual property

The Untangled name, branding, and the Service itself are owned by us and are protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding except as necessary to use the Service. “Discord” is a trademark of Discord Inc. Untangled is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc.

8. Third-party services

The Service operates on the Discord platform and may rely on third-party providers to deliver certain features (for example, an AI provider for the optional AI chat feature, or top.gg for the voting/webhook feature). Your use of Discord and any linked third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies, which we do not control.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that any defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is zero.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your server. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, including if you violate these Terms or the Discord Terms of Service, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
